Welcome to Playland Daycare Center - in operation for 35 years!  Playland Daycare is a family-orientated center that fosters each child's individual strengths and focuses on the inclusion of all the children in our care.  Playland Daycare staff work cooperatively as a team to make a place where all children can feel safe to express their feelings and form relationships with other children.  Advocacy for each child's physical, emotional and cognitive learning is what grounds our relationships with the outside community and our strong connections with supported development services such as Sooke Family Resource Center, Queen Alexandra Supported Development, Victoria Friendship Center and Little Steps.  It is our philosophy that each child should have the freedom to explore their individuality in an environment that not only provides that opportunity but also facilitates their individual growth through both guided activities and free play.

Our childcare center is fully licensed and offers two distinct programs: a Group Daycare program for ages 30 months to 5 years as well as an Out of School Care program for ages K-age 13yrs. Our Out of School Care program will need to be registered for each year starting in the spring. Please check our News and Links page for registration opening dates. Playland provides transportation to and from all five of the Sooke community schools (John Muir, Sooke Elementary, Poirier & Saseenos, as well as Journey Middle School up to 13yrs old). We recognize that nature is a fundamental part of each child's learning and emphasis outdoor play at least twice a day in our daily schedule; we provide two fenced playgrounds complete with:  sandbox, climbing structure, slides, swings, and garden for daily outside fun.

At Playland Daycare, we recognize that children experience life at their own level. Your child will be encouraged to face new experiences and challenges and to understand that it is not the success or failure that is important, but the learning that occurs with each experience or challenge that encourages them to grow.
